Coaching Wholeness

Intentional Evolution is a process of consciously and deliberately cultivating personal and professional growth, transformation, and self development in service to ourselves, our communities and our shared existence on this planet.

If we wish to heal the disconnection that has accompanied us individually and as a species from self, others and from place, we can begin by meaningfully seeking our own evolution…on purpose.

Intentional Evolution involves actively taking responsibility for our own development and making choices that align with our values, goals, and aspirations.

Intentional Evolution is a process, an unfolding. It is a way of nurturing a more fulfilling, purposeful, and meaningful life by centering self-awareness and our felt-senses to move into authentic and aligned action on behalf of ourselves and our world.

Leaning on ideas taken from many disciplines, Intentional Evolution takes a holistic view of the process that we all are undertaking - that is, to be more fully ourselves.

  • This process contains feedback loops where output and input affect each other.

  • This process is emergent and self organizing. Humans and the systems that we inhabit and create are incredibly complex and are more than their constituent parts. To evolve intentionally is to honor this complexity and to explore ways of shifting our patterns knowing that these shifts will create change in other areas of our experience.

  • This process is non-linear. In Intentional Evolution, we may undertake the project of coaching in order to be more present with our families or to explore developing our leadership skills only to find out that the changes we make at home or at work have a profound impact on how we relate to our other communities and ourselves.

Some aspects of Intentional Evolution include:

Developing a healthy relationship with our thoughts, emotions, beliefs and behaviors. Understanding and embracing both our strengths and our vulnerabilities is crucial for our personal evolution as well as for the evolution of our species. This awareness enables individuals and communities to identify areas for growth and make more informed and aligned decisions.

Self-awareness

Once clarity has been found, taking deliberate action is the next step in the process. FInding a way to move forward with awareness and curiosity means we can more fully enjoy the process as it unfolds. When we are able to step fully into the behavior or the strategy we have envisioned from a place of alignment and authenticity, wonderful things come to life.

Action and Implementation

Embracing change, learning from setbacks, and cultivating resilience are essential to growth and ongoing learning. Adopting an attitude of curiosity and wonder will often take us farther than working to get things just right.

Adaptability and Continuous Learning

Intentional evolution involves regularly examining our lives, values, and priorities. When we gain insights into our patterns, habits, and behaviors we are often surfacing unconscious material. Once known, we can't unknow it. Once felt, we cannot unfeel it. This then, allows conscious choice to guide us forward.

Reflection and Introspection

This describes an organism's capacity to make sense of its own environment and its own felt experience to intentionally shift its state to dynamically adapt and relate to its environment in the effective pursuit of purposeful goals.

Embodied Intelligence

Present Orientation and Goal-setting

Setting clear, realistic, and achievable goals is an essential component of satisfying, nourishing, forward movement. Understanding where we are now clarifies the possible directions in which we might travel and allows us to better map the course.

Spontaneous ordering tendencies can be found in all complex systems including our bodies and the webs of interconnection that we exist within.

  • “I have known Amy for probably around twenty years. I have always found her, both in practice as well as in her teaching, to be extremely humble about the level of knowledge and skill she brings to the table. I have received coaching from her more recently, and found this to be no exception. In my experience Amy is quite aware of and respectful of appropriate boundaries. She provides a space in which I feel safe and comfortable doing the work she helps guide me through. I also feel like Amy has a well-honed intuitive sense which enables her to offer very useful suggestions during our work together. My sessions with Amy feel incredibly productive for my healing journey.”

  • “Since I met Amy in 2011 I've appreciated the respect and empathy she offers. She has a keen sense of detail and how detail relates to a whole system.”

  • “Wow! My session with Amy gave me the clarity I was searching for and helped me launch my new business with confidence. I felt that she really heard my concerns and she had a clear strategy for helping me untangle the emotional blocks from the practical reality. I was really thrilled that we made so much progress as quickly as we did. I love this somatic approach; it makes so much sense.”
